Industrial Grade, Ultra Low Power ARM SMARC 2.0
The conga-SMX8-X is based on the SMARC 2.0 Specification and features an NXP® i.MX 8QuadXPlus, 8DualXPlus, or 8DualX applications processor. With a maximum power consumption of TBD W, the conga-SMX8-X is a low power module with high computing performance. By offering most of the functional requirement for any SMARC application, the conga-SMX8-X provides manufacturers and developers with a platform to jump-start the development of systems and applications based on SMARC specification. Its features and capabilities make it an ideal platform for designing compact, energy-efficient, performance-oriented embedded systems.
The main differences between the 8X variants and the i.MX 8 QuadMax processor-based modules (such as the conga-SMX8) amount to the availability of 2 to 4 ARM Cortex-A35 cores instead of ARM Cortex-A53, no ARM Cortex-A72 processors, and 1x instead of 2x M4F MCUs. The result is an overall more energy-efficient feature set with a power consumption of fewer than 3 watts in normal operation. As far as I/Os are concerned, the processors and modules differ by supporting a maximum of 2 displays, one instead of two PCIe Gen 3.0 lanes, and one instead of two MIPI CSI camera inputs. Otherwise, the feature set is largely comparable.
