Introduction

The RES 720 is designed to provide a precise time pulse for the synchronization of 4G/5G base stations, or other systems requiring a precise pulse-per-second (PPS) output. Its 19x19mm surface-mount package makes it ideal for embedding into your host solution. When operating in Over-Determined Timing Mode the accuracy of pulse per second (PPS) is within 5 nanoseconds of GNSS/UTC. Additionally, RES 720 timing module includes many of Trimble’s standard timing features, including Time-Receiver Autonomous Integrity Monitoring (T-RAIM) algorithm, automatic self-survey, and GNSS disciplining of the oscillator to provide an accurate frequency reference.

With integrated Smart GNSS Assurance™ Technology and inherent security features, RES 720 offers an industry-leading, value-engineered solution for carrier-grade resilient timing products. It is designed to meet the resilient timing requirements mandated by 2020 Executive Order (EO) for positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) services.
Trimble’s RES 720 module is a dual-band (L1 and L5) multi-constellation GNSS timing receiver that provides single RF input for all GNSS bands to simplify host circuitry. Powered by Trimble’s Smart GNSS Assurance™ technology, the timing module offers protection against jamming and hacking of signals with automatic fallback to available GNSS signals (L1 to L5). These capabilities and highly accurate timing service provide operators with the ability to meet stringent timing requirements of critical infrastructure while guarding network synchronization against attacks from hackers. Infrastructure equipment suppliers & solutions providers will benefit by integrating highly accurate clock services to their devices & solutions while enabling secured resilient timing solutions for critical infrastructure.
