Introduction
Controller Area Network (CANbus) is a serial communication that was originally designed for the automotive industry. As the Internet of Things (IoT) becomes a trend, CANbus is widely applied in aerospace, defence, medical, LED lighting and building automation systems. IoT application is clean, simple, and delivers low-cost wiring architecture. It also provides error detections, signalling, and fault tolerance making it more secure and reliable.
In light of this, Innodisk designed the EMUC-B201 CANbus module. It provides dual inputs and galvanically isolated circuits. This allows for an increase in CAN 2.0B interface that native CPU design does not support and is compatible with 2.0A.
When considering the system upgrade and output expansion in industrial computers, system architects can use EMUC-B201 to immediately obtain CAN ability via USB 2.0 interface of mPCIe or USB Pin header. This diminishes the challenges that builders have when redesigning the system’s motherboards.
